The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (NRE) (Malay: Kementerian Sumber Asli Dan Alam Sekitar) is a ministry which established under the Malaysian government, and led by the incumbent Minister of Natural Resources and Environment. Its headquarters is in Putrajaya.

NRE is responsible for:

Natural resources management:

a. Forest management.
b. Irrigation and drainage management.
c. Wildlife management.
d. Minerals management.

Conservation and management of environment and shelters:

a. Environmental conservation.
b. Marine park management.

Management of land survey and mapping administration:

a. Land management and administration.
b. Land surveying.
c. Mapping processing.


To ensure well balanced management of natural resources and environment in achieving sustainable development.

To ensure efficient and effective service delivery system of natural resources and environment management.

To ensure efficient and effective implementation of development projects.

To establish training and research and development (R&D) as an innovative exploration catalyst in natural resources management and environmental conservation.

To ensure a clean, safe, healthy, productive and unpolluted environment.
