The Malaysian Road Transport Department (RTD) (Malay: Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan Malaysia) (JPJ) is a government department under the Malaysian Ministry of Transport. This department is responsible for examine and issue the Malaysian driving license, road tax, vehicle registration and relevant documents for its users.

In addition, JPJ is also authorized and empowered to enforce transportation laws and regulation passed by Parliament.

Objectives

• To establish and regulate the registration and licensing of motor vehicles systematically, integrity and innovative.

• Creating and administering road transport law with committed to produce competent drivers of motor vehicles, comply with regulations and prudent.

• Enforce and administer the law with the road transport and integrity committed to creating a society that has a culture of adherence to the rules of the road.

• Regulating and governing motor vehicle safety standards with efficiency and integrity to meet the needs of the environment and the country's automotive industry.

Mission

Regulate motor vehicles and road traffic to safely and efficiently through enforcement and efficient service delivery, integrity and high technology to meet customer needs and the country and the welfare of citizens and develop professional capabilities.
